Anxiety is a natural reaction that alerts us to danger; however, for some this alert works too well and anxiety begins to disrupt daily life. People experience anxiety socially, in general, or due to a specific trigger. In counseling, specific therapeutic techniques are used to develop awareness around the source of anxiety. Dr. LaBarge provides her clients with skills that are transferable to their daily life, so they can learn to appropriately address anxiety as it is experienced. Specifically, Dr. LaBarge utilizes Mindfulness, Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT), and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) techniques in session to address the client's anxiety.
